The constitution sets out our binding rules that determine what governance actions are legitimate for the DAO to take.
Each article has examples of permissible and non-permissible actions. These examples are illustrative and should not be considered a binding part of the text of the constitution itself.
AutoMinter governance shall not enact any change that restricts access to the service to any individual or group. It should not discriminate against anyone and remain an open public utility to the maximum extent possible to continue operating the service.
Permissible: AutoMinter governance may enact a change which limits the number of collections every user can create in a given time period to protect the service from spam attacks.
Not Permissible: AutoMinter governance must not enact rules which block access to the service for a list of users, as this would unfairly benefit or penalise a handpicked group.
The primary mechanism for issuing AMR is an incentive mechanism, to reward actions that lead to AutoMinter's growth. A secondary purpose is to enforce a fair distribution in order to remain sufficiently decentralised. AutoMinter governance may not change the distribution mechanisms for another purpose.
Permissible: AutoMinter governance may change the allocation mechanism to issue tokens to minters to incentivise minting collections created on the service.
Not Permissible: AutoMinter governance must not issue new tokens to a burn address for the purpose of increasing existing holders' value
Any income generated to the AutoMinter treasury is to be used first to ensure the long-term viability of AutoMinter, and to fund the continuing development and improvement of the AutoMinter platform and its growth.
Permissible: AutoMinter governance may use funds to pay contributors to improve the product or grow usage of the service.
Not Permissible: AutoMinter governance must not use the funds to support projects that conflict with the goals of AutoMinter.
AutoMinter governance may not make changes which result in unequal or non-fungible treatment of AMR.
Permissible: AutoMinter governance may change the allocation formula so that creators earn a reduced marginal number of tokens to stop single projects getting a monopoly of tokens
Not Permissible: AutoMinter governance must not allocate rewards exclusively to a certain group of token holders, as this would unfairly benefit or penalise a handpicked group.
Any change may be made to this constitution only by two-thirds majority and at least 10% of all tokens participating.
